Bright moon, why are you so clear?
By Han Anonymous Poet
Translated by Laijon Liu
Bright moon, why are you so clear?
And shine on my blind and bed?
Too much sorrow, how can I sleep?
So I hold my jacket and hang about.
A traveler am I and liberal as a cloud,
But nothing is better than being at home.
Away from family I wander alone,
My grieving thoughts with whom I share?
Staring at far, then back into my room,
To find my tear marks on my cloth.
