Sonnet 127

Sonnet 127
Laijon Liu 20160621

What color is counted fair nowadays?
White, Black, Brown, Yellow, Green…?
O, it’s the color of Gold, a rich color
That all men praise and admire
Since ancient time men are drawn to it
Trade their young daughters to gain
Train their boys to ravage like wolves
Sort each other in clans and enslave
Can God blame us for this sin? This desire?
That power and beauty are based on?
And resource that we build our love upon?
Even our religions and laws require it?
How I wish we’re truly fooled by color
And never realize that all men are brown
