THE GOLD-THREADED ROBE

THE GOLD-THREADED ROBE
By Du Qiuniang (Woman Poet of Tang)
Translated by Laijon Liu 20090122

Hey Yo! Don’t live for the gold-threaded robe!
Hey Yo! Don’t let pass your young prime age!
The roses are blooming, and you must pluck!
Don’t let them fall so you only get their bough!

金縷衣

勸君莫惜金縷衣,
勸君惜取少年時。
花開堪折直須折,
莫待無花空折枝。
